Can I set pending registrations to expire after a specific amount of time has elapsed?
Please note that the following article shows functionality for the new version of our form editor (v2). If you are using our legacy form editor (v1), you can still use this feature following the steps in the article below, but you will be unable to exclude tracks from using this feature. If you wish to switch to the new version of our editor, please contact us at getregistered® support.
In getregistered®, we offer two solutions for registrations that have been left in a pending/started state for a specific amount of time. These features allow you to free up capacity on your event tickets and room/session bookings, without having to chase after attendees that have failed to complete their registration.
When navigating to your 'Advanced' Event Settings, you will see the following options available:

- Registration Grace Period (minutes) - this option is always active, and set to a default of 60 minutes. When not used in conjunction with the 'Auto-Cancel Expired Registrations' feature, this will expire any tickets held by a pending registration after the period of time set. This will only be applied if there are no session/room bookings on your registration form - if there are either present on your form, the Registration Grace Period is not applied.
- Auto-Cancel Expired Registrations - when this checkbox is selected, any pending/started registrations will be automatically cancelled once the period set in the Registration Grace Period field lapses. This will also cancel any session and/or room bookings created during the registration, releasing capacity for all relevant tracks/sessions/rooms and increasing availability for other attendees.
Can a pending attendee re-attempt to register if their registration has expired?
If there is enough availability left in your event for a cancelled attendee to re-register, they can attempt to register again, but their original registration may need to be deleted if 'Auto-Cancel Expired Registrations' is enabled.
If your event has no session or room bookings and you do not have 'Auto-Cancel Expired Registrations' enabled, they will see the option to 'Update Ticket' option on their confirmation page.

Clicking on this will redirect them to the track selection page (depending on your event capacity) and allow the attendee to select a track and re-register.
If Auto-Cancel Expired Registrations is enabled for your event, then they will need to re-register via your event site.
Can I exclude tracks from auto-cancelling with the Auto-Cancel Expired Registrations feature enabled?
If you have enabled Auto-Cancel Expired Registrations, when creating or editing your registration tracks, you will see the following option available - 'Exclude from Auto-Cancel':

When this is enabled, attendees registering with the selected track will not be 'auto-cancelled', nor will their ticket expire if the Registration Grace Period lapses.
