Adding Apple Pay as a payment method in your events

Note: for Apple Pay to be enabled for events in your organization, you must have this feature enabled for your organization as well as having an active payment gateway added to your organization's account. Please contact our support team if you are interested in enabling these payment methods in your events.

Currently Apple Pay is only supported in getregistered when using a Stripe payment gateway.

If your organization has 'Apple Pay' enabled for our events, there are a few steps required in Stripe to be able to make the feature available to your attendees at checkout.

Apple Pay needs the checkout domain registered to be registered with Apple, via Stripe. Your checkout domain can be captured from the URL you use when logged in to your organization, it should be something like your_subdomain.getregistered.net  (no other part of the URL is required for this setup).

There are no requirements needed here directly with Apple (no developer account, no certificates) and nothing is required to be uploaded - getregistered already serves Stripe's verification file at /.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association  on every organization domain whose gateway is Stripe. The one manual step is telling Stripe about the domain, which triggers Apple's verification fetch:

  1. Log into the Stripe Dashboard for the account you are using with getregistered.
  2. Go to SettingsPayments → Payment method domains (direct link when logged in to Stripe: https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/settings/paymentmethoddomains), then select Add a new domain.
  3. Enter the exact host that serves the payment page for your organization, eg your_subdomain.getregistered.net .
  4. Stripe/Apple will then fetch the .well-known  file immediately; the domain should show verified within seconds.
  5. Once verified, any attendee using the Safari browser with a Wallet card saved on their device will see the button 'Apple Pay' payment button on checkout, and can complete a transaction using this payment method.
