What information can I collect using fields while building a registration form?
Please note that the following article shows functionality for the new version of our form editor (v2). If you are using our legacy form editor (v1), you can still follow the steps in the article below, but the location and/or naming of the options noted may be different. The options displayed below can be added to a registration form from the 'Form Builder' column displayed on the right-hand side of the form editor.



Once you click on an option, it will display on the center of the page in the section and order that it will appear on the form. Click on field in the center of the page to edit it.
Inputs and Widgets overview
Text Field
This allows you to collect free text information such as an attendee name or a company name. You can set this to be required information which means that the form can not be submitted without this information.

'Label' is the title of the field that will be displayed for your attendees.
'Caption' allows you to add some help text to be displayed underneath the field, which can be used to assist the attendee with answering the field on their registration.
Under 'Track Visibility', you can select if this field will appear on the registration form for all or specific tracks selected.
'Depends On' means that this field will only appear if the attendee has specifically answered another question that has Drop Down, Check Box or Radio choices.
Text Field configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have custom validation added
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on a check box/radio/drop down field
- Can be set to contain data tags
Check Box
This can be used for simple yes/no questions such as whether an attendee requires lunch or special assistance.
With 'Payments' enabled for your event, you can also assign a price to the checkbox if desired.
This field type can be used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature to create a 'dependable' field that appears when the check box is selected. You can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Check Box configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have a price added (if 'Payments' are enabled for an event)
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on another check box/radio/drop down field, or be set to be a dependable field.
- Can be set to contain data tags
Drop Down
This field allows you to collect multiple-choice data. Once selected, you can immediately name the field and start adding 'Choices' under the 'Choices' menu below:

With 'Payments' enabled for your event, you can also assign prices to the choices if desired.
This field type can be used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature to create a 'dependable' field that appears when a specific Drop Down 'Choice' is selected. You can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Drop Down configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have a price added (if 'Payments' are enabled for an event)
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on another check box/radio/drop down field, or be set to be a dependable field.
- Can be set to contain data tags
Radio
This creates a group of 'radio buttons' that allow the admin to display all the options and allow a single selection. For example, how attendees will travel to the event. Once selected, you can immediately name the field and start adding 'Choices' under the 'Choices' menu below:

With 'Payments' enabled for your event, you can also assign prices to the choices if desired.
This field type can be used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature to create a 'dependable' field that appears when a Radio 'Choice' is selected. You can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Radio configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have a price added (if 'Payments' are enabled for an event)
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on another check box/radio/drop down field, or be set to be a dependable field.
- Can be set to contain data tags
Number
This allows you to collect numerical data such as number of guests.
This field can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Number configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on another check box/radio/drop down field.
- Can be set to contain data tags
Date
This field will display a pre-formatted date field for attendees to enter a date. They can also select a date by clicking on the 'calendar' icon displayed on the field.
This field can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Date configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on another check box/radio/drop down field.
- Can be set to contain data tags
Text Area
This allows the attendee to add multi-line text such as an address or specific medical/dietary requirements.
This field can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Text Area configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on another check box/radio/drop down field.
- Can be set to contain data tags
This field collects additional email addresses other than the one stored for registration. The field will only accept inputs that match the standard email format (eg [email protected]).
This field can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Email configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)
- Can have limited track visibility
- Can be set to depend on another check box/radio/drop down field.

Phone Number
This field collects the phone number of the attendee. They must input a valid phone number in US format.
This field can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.

- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)

Document Upload
This field allows the attendee to upload a document such as a copy of their ID. It is limited to images, web documents, and PDFs.
This field can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Document Upload configuration options:
- Can be made 'Required'
- Can be made visible only to Admins (Admin Visible Only)
- Can be edit-locked (field cannot be edited once registration is submitted)

Bookable Sessions
Allows you create 'sessions' that your attendees can select to attend during your event - please see the related support article here for a more in-depth description on how to use Sessions.
This widget can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Bookable Sessions options:

Lead Scanner
Adding a lead scanner allows attendees to select the option of a lead scanner that scans the QR codes/badges of other attendees to capture information. Attendees can scan either using the Lead Scanner area in in their registration area, or by using our 'GR Leads' app (available on Android and iOS devices).
With 'Payments' enabled for your event, you can also assign a price to the checkbox if desired.
This widget can be set to be displayed when used in conjunction with the 'Depends On' feature, and you can also choose which track sees this field under 'Track Visibility'.
Lead Scanner configuration options:
