How do I create admission types for my event tracks?
Please note that the following article shows functionality for the new version of our form editor (v2). If you are using our legacy form editor (v1), you can still follow the steps in the article below, but the location, naming and availability of some options noted may be different. If you wish to switch to the new version of our editor, please contact us at getregistered® support.
What are Admission Types?
'Admission Types' are where you will set your 'ticketing' structure for your event tracks, allowing you to set the availability, capacity and pricing (if event 'Payments' are enabled) for an individual event track, as well as add 'tiered' ticket types under the same event track. By default, each track is given a single 'Admission Type' with unlimited capacity, but you can add as many or as few as you'd like!
How do 'Admission Types' work?
When a single 'Admission Type' is available, your event track 'ticketing' will based solely against that admission type. So for example, if you had a track with a single 'Admission Type', every attendee registering would consume capacity and pricing from the details set in that particular admission type.
If you were to have multiple 'Admission Types', you could set an availability date on one of them that comes into action at a later date, allowing you to create a tiered pricing structure with controlled capacity, so for example - you could set an 'early bird' admission type with limited capacity to sell out your first round of registrations at a lower price, with the availability being removed at a later date for selling your next round of registrations at a higher price with increased capacity.
'Admission Types' can be added and edited at any time during your event cycle, but please note that you cannot delete an 'Admission Type' once you have taken at least 1 registration against it. However, availability, capacity and pricing can be changed at any time!
How do I add and manage my Admission Types?
To add admission types to your event track while building it, scroll to the bottom of the track editor form to the Admission Types' section:

To add additional admission types to an existing track, you must select to 'Edit' option for the track you wish to amend and scroll to the bottom of the form where your current event track admission is set ('Admission Types' section):

To add/change a name, availability, capacity or pricing for any current admission types, simply populate the fields provided as you wish. To add additional admission types, click on the green '+' icon:

If you wish to re-arrange the ordering of your admission types, you can 'grab' an admission type by clicking on and holding down your mouse/trackpad button on the 6 dots to the left of the admission type and dragging it to the position you wish it do be saved in. Please note this does not change the order in which admission types are made available to attendees, this is purely for making your admission type ordering easier to digest in the admin area.

To delete an admission type, click on the 3 dots at the end of the row and select the 'Delete' option. Please note, you cannot delete 'all' admission types, there must be at least 1 admission type on your event track for it to function!

Multiple Admission Types example scenario
Let's use a real life scenario to create an event track with a tiered structure. In the example below, I have created 2 admission types - 'General Admission' and 'Early Bird Admission':

I have set the 'Early Bird Admission' to be available immediately (this can be left blank, but in the example I have used a date) with limited capacity and reduced pricing. In the 'General Admission' admission type, I have set the availability to commence 1 minute after the 'Early Bird Admission 'availability ends and left the 'Available To' field empty, as I would like this to run down to registration closing. You may also have noted that I have increased both capacity and price accordingly.
At this current time, when an attendee wants to register for the track, they will be presented with the Early Bird admission type:

If the capacity is reached for this Admission Type before the 'Availability From' date/time set on the 'General Admission' admission type, then the track will show as 'sold out'.
Once the date and time reaches the 'Availability From' set on the 'General Admission' admission type, the 'General Admission' admission type is then the only 'ticket' available to attendees:
